In the 21st century, the prevalence and acceptance of e-commerce became at least as common as traditional, personal shopping. Most people do not even think that even buying a new shoe constitutes a sale and purchase contract, however, e-commerce is subject to more complex and stricter rules, owing to the fact that we first see the purchased product in the package delivered by the courier, therefore, there is no prior opportunity to preview or try it. Every online store has a different structure and sales system, therefore, each operator needs a personalized and publicly published general terms and conditions document, which should cover – among other things – the exact order process, payment methods and delivery, consumer rights and the possibilities for dispute settlement. If a company which operates an online store has an incomplete or outdated general terms and conditions and GDPR documentation, fines from the authorities can reach up to several million Hungarian forints – it is therefore worth reviewing the existing document package with an expert and updating it based on the constantly changing legislation, and prepare them properly in advance in case of a start of new e-businesses.
Our office provides the following services in connection with e-commerce:
During the personal consultation, we review the used documents and data protection methods, give legal advice, determine the remuneration and agree on the next steps. In case of a commission, the first consultation is always free!
We take a closer look at the details, supervise the used methods and draft the appropriate documents.
Based on the type of the case, we represent our clients before the relevant court or authorities.
